While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are stationed at 737 bases, in 130 nations around the world, defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, based at Camp Lejeune, north carolina begins urban warfare training in Indianapolis, indiana. For the next three weeks 2,300 Marines will be acclimating U.s. subject/enemy/citizens to the idea of martial law, and “desensitiz[ing] military and police personnel so that they will accept what was once considered unacceptable.”

Former Republican (fascist/socialist) CONgressman Robert L. Barr, Jr., of the confederate state of georgia, wins the Libertarian (constitutionalist) Party nomination for president. Among the anti-libertarian position Barr has held are:
- Operative for the Central Intelligence Agency;
- Anti-Drug Coordinator for the United States Department of Justice;
- Sponsor of the Defense of Marriage Act,
- Voted in favor of the USA PATRIOT Act and the Iraqi-American War;
- Blocked the legalization of medicinal marijuana in the District of Columbia;
- Proposed a ban on the practice of pagan religions in the United states Armed Forces;
- An unapologetic advocate of border repression and a national sales tax.
Postscript: Following the election Barr returned to the Republican party, where he endorsed former speaker of the house of representative Newt Gingrich for president in 2012.
