The Battle of Antietam Creek/Sharpsburg: Major General Robert E. Lee, commanding the Confederate (a voluntary union) Army of Northern Virginia, and Major General George B. McClellan, commanding the compulsory Union Army of the Potomac, fight to a draw.

       NOTE: This was the bloodiest single day of the War of Federal Aggression as 17,000 Americans lost their lives.
