The Wars of the Roses continue, at the Battle of Tewkesbury: Edward IV (r. 1461 – 1470; 1471 – 1483), commanding the Yorkist Army, defeats the Lancastrian Army, commanded by Edward of Lancaster, Prince of Westminster.

       NOTE: Prince Edward, the last direct heir to the throne in the Lancastrian line, was killed.
