Fallout from 9-1-1 (9/11/2001): Barbara Bailey, Peter Chase, George Christian and Jan Nocek, librarians with the Plainville, connecticut municipal Library refuse to comply with a Federal Bureau of Investigation National Security Letter ordering them to deliver to the FBI all of their computerized lending records.  The letter places the four under a gag order not to discuss this matter with anyone, or even talk to each other over the telephone.

NOTE: NSLs do not require the endorsement of a Federal judge.

Postscript: Bailey, Chase, Christian Nocek went to the American Civil Liberties Union with the matter and beat the FBI in Federal court.
