While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are in Afghanistan, Djibouti, Iraq, the Philippines and west Africa defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” the Department of Corrections, of the republic of texas, executes Cameron Todd Willingham for the arson murders of his three daughters.
NOTE: Besides the slipshod investigation, the other critical testimony against Willingham was that of a jailhouse informant (Johnny Webb) who testified—in exchange for a lighter sentence—that Willingham had confessed to setting the fire. Postscripts:
- Five years later an investigation was opened up into the facts of Willingham’s trial. Nine forensic arson investigators concluded that,
- investigators neglected to check all of the electrical outlets and appliances for an electrical cause for the fire, nor did they consider any other casses for the fire;
- the investigators conclusions contradicted eye witness testimony;
- Willingham’s injuries could not have been caused as the investigators said they were.
- After Webb’s early release from prison, he admitted that his testimony against Willingham was perjured.
