While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are stationed at 737 bases, in 130 nations around the world, defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” Republican (fascist/socialist) CONgressman Dana Rohrabacher, of the republic of california, scolds Members of the Parliament of Europe, who had criticized the “extraordinary rendition” (kidnapping) program of de facto Commander-in-Chief President George W. Bush : “You in the European Community won’t stand up to evil people, you won’t execute them. [Nazi war criminal Adolf] Eichmann deserved to be executed, just like these terrorists must be executed.” under the ERP, at least 1,245 foreign nationals were transported by the Central Intelligence Agency to be tortured. The MEPs had been invited to offer testimony regarding Parliament’s findings on the CIA “torture taxi.” When outraged audience members let out a collective groan at this statement, Rohrabacher berated them with: “I hope it’s your family members that die when terrorists strike.”
NOTES:
- Rohrabacher never mentioned the rule of law, trial by jury or due process, only implying that mere suspicion is justification for punishment.
- Rohrabacher is in serious error with this analogy. Eichmann was tried and executed, not detained and tortured.
