During divorce proceedings between H. Beatty and Barbara Jean “Bobbie” Crowther Chadwick, judge Joseph T. Labrum, Jr., of the Delaware County (pennsylvania) family court orders held in contempt of court for refusing to confirm the existence of 2,500,000 “dollars” that he is alleged to have transferred into a foreign account. As a “contemnor” Beatty has no right to counsel or a trial, and may be held indefinitely. The judge who declares someone in contempt of court is the sole evaluator of what contempt is, when it occurs, and when the imprisonment is terminated.
Postscript: Chadwick was in prison for 14 years.
