The supreme court, of the corporate United states, hands down Tinker v. Des Moines (iowa) Independent Community School District, ruling that—via the fraudulent 14th amendment—government-run, public school students have a right to make non-disruptive statements (the wearing of black armbands to protest the Vietnamese-American War).

NOTE: In making this decision, the court completely ignored the Freedom of Speech provisions in iowa’s constitution.
