Brigadier general (sic) John Marston, IV, commanding the first provisional marine brigade of the marine corps of the navy of the United states, lands in British occupied Iceland to relieve the United Kingdom’s troops to fight in the Axis War (World War II).
NOTE: This was another act of war. CONgress would not declare war for another five months.
