While the army and navy of the United states are in France “making the world safe for democracy,” Albert Sidney Burleson, Postmaster General of the United states, under the authority of the Espionage Act, denies mailing privileges to the monthly periodicals Mother Earth, The Masses and the American Socialist, for their anti-war content.

       Postscript: A month later all three magazines had ceased publication.
