The two-week Second Wheeling (Virginia) Convention concludes: Delegates from 30 northwestern Virginia counties, along with compulsory Union occupied Alexandria and Fairfax Counties secede from the Commonwealth of Virginia form an alternate government for the State.

       NOTE: The Representatives and Senators elected by the Electorate and legislature were admitted into Congress.
