Charles F. Lutz, a freedman, enlists in Company F, of the Eighth Louisiana Volunteer Infantry.
Postscript: Lutz saw action in the Battles of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. In 1900 he was awarded a Confederate Veteran’s pension.
