The Battle of Booneville (Missouri): Brigadier General Nathaniel Lyon, commanding two compulsory Union volunteer regiments, a company of Army of the united States regulars and a battery of artillery, defeats the Missouri State Militia, commanded by Colonel John S. Marmaduke.  Lyon topples the State government (which had relocated to Booneville following the Camp Jackson Massacre the month previous) and installs his own pro-compulsory Union government.

       Question: Lincoln-phile “court historians” ignore events such as this, insisting that the War of Federal Aggression (for southern independence) was a “civil war” (to overthrow the federal government), but in light of events like this, which side was really trying to cause the downfall of governments?
