The Battle of Quallah Battoo: Captain John Downes, of the Navy of the united States, commanding the USS Columbia, lands his Marines on the island of Sumatra (Dutch East Indies/Indonesia), and orders them to exact retribution for massacring the crew of the merchant marine vessel SS Friendship.

      Well it’s perfectly clear that if your town or my town or any town, is classified as a pirate town we must suppose that whatever is done in that town, in the name of the people of the United States, is certainly justified. But, “Old Hickory” did veto the second Bank of the United States. —- JL
