PATRIOT’S DAY: The first American Revolution begins when the Massachusetts Militia (subject-volunteers) defeats a weapons confiscation team dispatched by General Thomas Gage, Royal Governor of the colony of Massachusetts Bay, to seize the armory at Concord.  The Army of Great Britain suffers heavy losses on its retreat back to Boston; once there, the Militia begins a siege of Boston.
