The Federal court for the eastern district of texas hands down United states v. Pipkins, sentencing Karl Pipkins to 30 years in prison for not accepting a plea bargain.  The only evidence presented against Pipkins came from the testimonies of alleged co-conspirators, who had accepted plea bargains.  Statute enforcement officers who testified all admitted that no drugs were ever believed to be in Pipkins’ possession.  This is Pipkins’ first conviction.
