The 42nd United Nations General Assembly passes G.A. Resolution 44/25, proposing to member-nations for ratification, the Convention on the Rights of the Child:
- Article 6.1 requires that signatory nations “recognize that every child has the inherent right to life”—ONLY AFTER BIRTH;
- Article 7.1 requires that each “child shall be registered immediately after birth”;
- Article 9.1 requires that signatory nations recognize the right of children to preserve the identities, nationalities, names and familial relations—as mandated by law;
- Article 8.1 requires that “a child shall not be separated from his or her parents against their will, except … in accordance with applicable law”;
- Article 13.1 and 2 requires that “The child shall have the right to freedom of expression … only … as are provided by law. …”
- Article 14.1 and 3 requires that signatory nations “shall respect the right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. … subject only to such limitations as are prescribed by law. …”
- Article 15.1 and 3 requires that signatory nations “recognize the rights of the child to freedom of association and to freedom of peaceful assembly. No restrictions may be placed on the exercise of these rights other than those imposed in conformity with the law. …”
- Article 23.3 requires signatory nations to provide disabled children with free [paid for by someone else] “education, training, health care services, rehabilitation services, preparation for employment and recreation opportunities in a manner conducive to the child’s achieving the fullest possible social integration and individual development, including his or her cultural and spiritual development.’
- Article 24.1 requires signatory nations “to ensure that no child is deprived of his or her right of access to such health care services.”
- Article 29.1 requires signatory nations to “agree that the education of the child shall be directed to … the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. …”
- Article 37 requires signatory nations “to ensure that the arrest, detention or imprisonment of a child shall be in conformity with the law. …” (emphasis added)
