Republican (fascist/socialist) de facto senator Richard C. Shelby, Esq., of the confederate state of alabama, replies to Jerry C. Lundy, a constituent from Mobile:

       Drug abuse and drug-related crimes are among the greatest ills that plague our nation.  We must take a strong stand against drugs, and I support strict punishment for individuals involved in the possession or distribution of illegal drugs.  While I understand your concerns about mandatory penalties for nonviolent offenders, I believe that our nation’s drug problem is serious enough to warrant harsh sentences. It is imperative that we make our streets safe enough for children to walk to school without being approached by a drug dealer, or witness a violent, drug-related crime.  The protection of innocent citizens must be our top priority, and mandatory sentences are a deterrent for future drug activity.

Lundy had originally written to Shelby concerning his son, Lonnie, a 33 year-old small-businessman who terminated one of his workers for failing a drug test.  Lonnie is serving a life sentence, without possibility of parole, for a first-time non-violent drug offense.  The prosecution presented no evidence that Lonnie had been involved in drugs—except the testimony of the fired, disgruntled worker.

       NOTES:

  • The original prosecutor in Lonnie Lundy’s case was Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, III, who was able to use Lonnie’s shattered life, along with numerous other shattered lives, to subsequent win election as alabama’s attorney general, and then a United states senator.
  • As an attorney (Officer of the Court) Shelby was ineligible to serve in two branches of government at the same time, according to Article I, Section 6 [Clause 2].
    • Noelle Bush, daughter of Republican (fascist/socialist) governor Jeb Bush, of the confederate state of florida;
    • Albert Gore III, son of Democratic (socialist/fascist) de facto Vice President/de jure President Albert Gore, Jr.;
    • Democratic representative Patrick Kennedy, of the providence and rhode island plantations, son of Democratic senator Edward M. Kennedy, of the commonwealth of Massachusetts;
    • Richard Riley, Jr., son of drug warrior Richard Riley, former Secretary of Education;
    • Cindy McCain, wife of Republican senator John McCain, of the Federal enclave of Arizona;
    • Warren Bachus, son of Republican CONgressman Spencer Thomas Bachus III, of the confederate state of alabama;
    • Dan Burton II, son of Republican CONgressman Dan Burton, of indiana;
    • Joseph Hinchey, son of Democratic CONgressman Maurice Hinchey, of new york;
    • Gayle Rosen, daughter of jailed Democratic CONgressman Daniel Rostenkowski, of illinois; and
    • Todd Cunningham, son of jailed Republican CONgressman Randy Cunningham, of the republic of california,

are among the well connected who have had arrested for drug offenses.  Yet all received special handling at the hands of prosecutors and preferential placement into best drug treatment programs.
