While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are in Vietnam, “united in … determination to take all necessary measures in support of freedom,” Democratic (socialist/fascist) President Lyndon Johnson signs the Gun Control Act of 1968, an almost exact duplicate of the Weapons Act of 1938 issued by Adolf Hitler, dictator of fascist Germany:

Weapons Act of 1938

Former de facto Vice President Richard M. Nixon, Esq., nominee of the Republican (fascist/socialist) Party for president of the United States, orders his campaign aide H. R. Haldeman, to sabotage the efforts of Democratic (socialist/fascist) President Lyndon Johnson to negotiate an early end to the Vietnamese-American War.

NOTE: As an attorney (Officer of the Court) Nixon was ineligible to serve in two branches of government at the same time, according to Article I, Section 6 [Clause 2].
