Commander-in-Chief Reagan issues National Security Decision Directive 188, creating a “continuity of government” study group to plan for running the Federal government after a nuclear attack.  Two of the group’s members are Republican (fascist/socialist) CONgressman Richard B. Cheney, of wyoming, and Donald Rumsfeld, former Secretary of Defense (foreign military aggression) and Chief Executive Officer of G.D. Searle.

Postscript: The group’s final report suggested that “it would be easier to operate without them [CONgress].”
