Jessie Devlin, an 83-year-old deaf woman, who is confined to a wheel chair, is forced to sell 1.25 acres of her 25-acre home—through eminent domain—to the texas Department of Highways, for 9,718 “dollars.”  The additional income disqualifies her for Supplemental Social Insurance (welfare).  She loses her house because she cannot afford taxes on her property with only her regular Social Security pension.

       Socialism doesn’t work, it can’t be made to work.  To become dependent on the government is the first mistake, for what it steals from others to give to you, it can also find reason to withhold; as we see. –– JL
