Operation Blue Jay: The United States Air Force (private mercenaries) begins construction of the Thule Air Base, at the village of Dundas, Greenland, forcibly relocating its 400 Inuit subsistence hunters 80 miles north to the previously unsettled region of Qaanaaq, where hunting is unsustainable.
