The Fair Deal/New Deal III (1949-52) continues: Democratic (socialist/fascist) President Truman signs the Housing Act of 1949, authorizing the construction of 810,000 low-income, high-rise housing units over the next six years.

Postscript: The act’s urban redevelopment model actually destroyed more homes than it built.  Most of the high-rise apartment building became crime infested slums that were worse than the units that they replaced.
