De facto Commander in Chief Franklin Roosevelt, Esq. issues Executive Order 8785, freezing the assets within the United states that belong to the warring fascist nations of Germany and Italy.

       Postscript: Three days later, Germany followed suit, seizing all U.s. assets.

       NOTES:

  • This was another act of war.  CONgress would not declare war for another six months.
  • As an attorney (Officer of the Court) Roosevelt was ineligible to serve in two branches of government at the same time, according to Article I, Section 6 [Clause 2].
