Republican (fascist/socialist) de facto President Harding (a resident of the Federal enclave of Ohio) pardons Eugene V. Debs, perennial presidential candidate of the Socialist Party, for violating the Espionage and Sedition Acts.
Question: Harding became president the previous March, why did he allow Debs (whose health was deteriorating) to rot in prison another ten-months? Was he trying to to play Santa Claus?
[restored 6/20/2022]
