The Fort Pillow (Tennessee) Massacre: After the capture of the compulsory Union garrison at Fort Pillow, commanded by Major Lionel F. Booth (a.k.a. George H. Lanning) Confederate Major General Nathan Bedford Forrest orders his cavalry corps to murder 200 compulsory Union Soldiers of African heritage.

       Postscript: Because of the massacre, Republican (nationalist) President Abraham Lincoln, of the united States, decided that there would be no more prisoner of war exchanges between the Confederate and compulsory Union armies.
