Bayard, Sr. Jonathan Russell, and Albert Gallatin, for the united States, sign the Treaty of Ghent (United Netherlands). The treaty essentially ends the Anglo-American War in a tie by restoring the pre-war status quo: Both sides agree to remove their forces from each other’s territory, and from the Spanish enclave of West Florida.
