A lawfully elected Senate (in accordance with Article I, Section 3 [Clause 1]) ratifies the Jay-Grenville Treaty, committing the united States to compensating loyalists for their losses during the first American Revolution, committing Great Britain to turning border fortification in u.S. territory by June 1, 1796, and establishing a commission to settle the boundary dispute between the u.S. and British North America (Canada).
