At a fifth grade Drug Abuse Resistance Education graduation exercise at Payette (Federal enclave of Idaho) (government-run public) Elementary School, 11-year-old William Wallace Grigg stands in silent protest as his fellow students recite the lyrics of the DARE anthem. At the end of the song, Wallace defiantly rips his DARE t-shirt (that the graduates had been told to wear for the occasion) from his body. “I’ve never been prouder of my son.”
