The legislature of washington passes House Joint Measure 4009, in a quixotic effort to assert State sovereignty: 

       The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United states specifically provides that, ‘The powers not delegated to the United states by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people;’ and The Tenth Amendment defines the total scope of federal power as being those powers specifically granted to it by the Constitution of the United states and no more.

       NOTE: While the editors applaud this gesture on the part of the legislature, they regard it as a pale half-measure.  For the legislature to truly assert its sovereignty by recalling the state’s two popularly elected (in accordance with the fraudulent 17th amendment) and constitutionally elect (in accordance with the Article I, Section 3 [Clause 1]) two Senators as permanent replacements.
