Federal Bureau of Investigation agents arrest Kevin Merkel, an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Special Agent, for possession and intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine.  Merkel is a veteran officer and a recipient of the Attorney General’s Award for Excellent in Law Enforcement.

       The Federal Open Market Committee of the unlawful, privately owned Federal Reserve System of (central) Banks reduces the Federal Runds Rate (the rate commercial banks charge each other to maintain their reserve requirements) from 1.5% to 1%.

       NOTES:

• During the month passed the FOMC essentially doubled the monetary base—with all other things being equal—setting the stage for a hyperinflation rate of at least 1200%, and considerably higher when consumers begin a frenzy of “panicked purchasing” (buying before prices are raised.
