The Iraqi Civil War continues: al-Qaida (Arabic for “the Base”) insurgents conduct a raid on Dwelah, Iraq, killing 13 Shi’ite (partisans of Ali) Moslems.

       NOTE: Meanwhile only one member of the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) lost his life in combat.

       The Army of Turkey conducts a raid 12 miles into Iraq with artillery, helicopters and a company of special force commandos, for the purpose of knocking out an ethnic Kurdistan Workers Party paramilitary base.
