Republican (fascist/socialist) governor George E. Pataki, Esq., of new york, signs Senate Bill 5400A, making illegal the use of cellular telephones by operators of automobiles and trucks.

       NOTES:

  • Cell phone use during conveyance operation is only the seventh leading cause of non-alcohol related collisions at 1.5%. The preceding six causes were:
    • distraction of the driver something outside the conveyance—29.4%,
    • adjusting of on board electronic entertainment—11.4%,
    • distraction by a rider—10.9%,
    • a moving object inside the conveyance—4.3%,
    • adjusting vehicular controls—2.8%,
    • consumption of nourishment—1.7%.
  • As an attorney (Officer of the Court) Pataki was ineligible to serve in two branches of government at the same time, according to Article I, Section 6 [Clause 2].
