The 18th judicial circuit court, of illinois, hands down the “Du Page Seven”: judge William A. Kelley finds former persecutors Robert K. Kilander, Patrick J. King Jr., Thomas L. Knight and Robert Winkler, of the State’s Attorney’s Office; and Lieutenant James Montesano, and Detectives Dennis Kurzawa and Thomas E. Vosburgh, of the Sheriff’s Office not guilty of criminal misconduct: framing Rolando Cruz for the kidnapping, rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl.  Cruz spent a decade on death row for this crime, which he did not commit.

Postscript: Four months later, Kelley ordered all records in the case sealed.
