The al-Qaida (Arabic for “the Base”) international terrorist network uses two suicide truck-bombs against the United states embassies in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.  The two attacks occur almost simultaneously and kill 224 Embassy employees (French for “government workers”) including 12 Americans.
