Democratic de facto President Clinton, Esq., signs the Federal Agriculture Improvement and Reform Act (a.k.a. “Freedom to Farm Act”), ostensibly for the purpose of reducing Federal interference in the nation’s farming industry.
Postscripts:
- In the four years following the passage of this act, subsidies to agribusinesses have increased every year. Half of the agricultural aid has gone to the top twelve percent of the nation’s farms (in terms of profitability).
- For fiscal year 2000, 7,400,000,000 “dollars” in emergency subsidies were allocated to the agricultural industry.
- Ten years after the passage of this act the Department of Agriculture was paying an average of 750,000,000 “dollars” each year to homeowners who did not farm, but owned land that once was used for farming.
- Also In the decade following the passage of this act, over 1,100,000,000 “dollars” were paid to 172,801 farmers who were deceased for over a year; forty percent of whom had been deceased for over three years.
