At the IXth Olympiad {the “Nazi” Olympics), in Berlin, Germany, Jesse Owens, of the United States, wins the gold medal for the 100-meter dash. Until Owens’ victory, dictator Adolf Hitler had personally awarded the medals to their recipients. But Hitler refuses to do so with Owens, as the American—of African heritage—has exposed the sham of the Nazi theories of the physical superiority of the Aryan race.
Postscripts:
- Hitler established a precedent for himself, and would not present any more medals; Owens went on to win three more gold medals, in the long jump, 200-meter dash, and the 4×100 meter relay.
- Years later, in an interview, Owens was asked what it felt like to be snubbed by Hitler. Owens answered with, “Hitler didn’t snub me—it was FDR who snubbed me. The president didn’t even send me a telegram.”
NOTE: The silver medal winner in this race was Mack Robinson, brother of future major league baseball player Jackie Robinson. Robinson did earn a gold medal, along with Owens, in the 4×100 meter relay.

Proof that FDR & Hitler were racist birds of a feather, and both collectivists too. –– JL
