The legislature of Utah rejects the unlawfully proposed 17th amendment to the Constitution for the united States, which would have chosen the Senate through popular election.

       NOTE: The 17th amendment was now null and void as Article V requires that State ratification of this amendment be unanimous: “[N]o State, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate.”
