DEPENDENCE DAY: To expand the ranks of the Army of the united States, Republican (nationalist) President Abraham Lincoln, of the united States—without a constitutional amendment—signs the Immigration Act of 1864, creating the Office of Immigration for the purpose of encouraging immigration into the u.S. This is little more than indentured servitude (voluntary, temporary slavery).
NOTE: The promises of the unanimous Declaration (of Independence) and the guarantees of the Constitution for the united States are enough to encourage immigration.
