Republican (constitutionalist) President Monroe turns the presidency over to Republican John Quincy Adams, Secretary of State. Monroe is giving to Adams a federal debt that has contracted from 123,000,000 to 83,800,000 Dollars, going from 16 to 10% of the Gross National Product, and from 14 to 8 Dollars, per person.
NOTE: The Union is still paying for the first American Revolution and the (Napoleonic World) War of 1812 through lawful Indirect (tariffs and excise) taxes placed upon manufactured goods.
