The Battle of Trafalgar: Horatio Nelson, Duke of Bronte, commanding the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom, defeats the combined navies of the Empire of France and the Kingdom of Spain, commanded by Vice Admiral Pierre-Charles-Jean-Baptiste-Silvestre de Villeneuve.

       NOTES:

  • Nelson was killed during the battle.
  • This ended the quest of Emperor Napoleon I to make France the dominant naval power in Europe and invade the U.K.
