The Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts indicts Daniel Shays and ten of his Militia leaders of being “disorderly, riotous, and seditious persons.”  This prompts Shays to do just that, by abandoning his efforts at peaceful resolution of the debt crisis, as he orders his fellow Continental Army war veterans to take up arms.
