Queen Anne (an Anglican) gives birth to Elizabeth (an Anglican, r. 1558 – 1603). Because the birth is less than six-months after her marriage to Henry VIII (a Catholic, until 1534; an Anglican afterward; r. 1509 – 1547), Parliament backdates the marriage to November 14, 1532. This allows Henry to recognize Elizabeth as his child.
