       Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury (an Anglican), declares the marriage between Henry VIII (r. 1509 – 1547) and Anne Boleyn to be null and void.

Postscripts:

  • Queen Anne was beheaded for adultery, incest and treason two days later;
  • Henry married his mistress, Jane Seymour, the day after Anne was executed.
