The Battle of Tinchebrai: Henry I (r. 1100 – 1135), commanding the knights of Bayeux, Meulan, Maine, Brittany, Évreux, Tosny, Montfort and Grandmesnil, defeats the knights of Mortain and Shrewsbury, commanded by Robert, Duke of Normandy, thus preserving the fragile “flower of liberty.”
