The superior court of Stevens County, washington hands down state v. Grange, sentencing John “Chewey” Grange to life in prison for a double drug murder.  The sole testimony in the case came from two low level drug dealers who offered their testimony in exchange for plea bargains.  During the trial, the prosecution portrayed Grange as mastermind of a drug ring that the Drug Enforcement Administration admitted did not exist.

Postscript: After the trial the prosecution admitted that the two witnesses were not reliable; but it was the only way to obtain a conviction, as there was no physical evidence.
