While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are stationed at 737 bases, in 130 nations around the world, defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” DeWayne Craddock, a civil engineer who had just recently resigned his position with the city of Virginia Beach, virginia, enters the Virginia Beach Municipal Center, and fatally shoots 11 city employees (French for “government workers”).  One of Craddock’s victims is Katherine Nixon, who feared for her safety, and contemplated bringing a sidearm to work, but was prohibited from doing so by the city’s gun-free policy.

NOTE: The city’s gun-free ordinance prevented Nixon from defending herself; but it did not prevent Craddock from killing her.
