Steve Larson, a california statute enforcement officer (acting under-color-of-law) leads the San Luis Obispo County Narcotics Task Force on a “No-knock” raid (legal home invasion) on the home of Maurice Pitesky. The SEOs break down doors and punch holes in walls looking for drugs. Once Larson realizes his error he orders his crew to repeat their vandalism next door. When Pitesky arrives he calls the city statute enforcement Department to report a burglary, as Larson had left no note of explanation.
Postscript: The next day when Pitesky spoke with him on the phone Larson refused to apologize for his actions: “I’m not going to apologize for doing my job, and I can kick down any door at that residence I want.”
