Black Hawk Down!: During the Battle of Mogadishu, Somali Militiamen shoot down two Blackhawk helicopters, of the United states Army, deep in territory controlled by the National Alliance of Somalia.  Nineteen U.s. Army Soldiers and officers (private mercenaries) are killed.  They had been on a mission to kidnap Brigadier General Mohamed Farrah Aidid, of the NAS, and two of his lieutenants.  The bodies of the American Soldiers are dragged on parade through the streets of Mogadishu.
