The Federal court for the central district of california hands down United states v. Keating: judge Mariana R. Pfaelzer sentences former Chairman Charles Keating, of American Continental, to twelve and a half years in prison and payment of a fine of 122,000,000 “dollars” for defrauding investors.  The loss to depositors is made up through Federal Deposit Insurance, and not paid out of restitution assessed against Keating.
